FR2.0 EUROCUP – TESTING AT PAUL RICARD

FR2.0 Eurocup

The 12 teams competing in the FR2.0 Eurocup met up for two more test days at Paul Ricard in Southern France with 38 drivers in action each day. After the first two test days in February, at Motorland in Spain, where the average daily temperatures were around 0°C, we had been looking forward to some spring-like weather. What we got was far from it, with gales of up to 100 kph, heavy rain and low temperatures again making the two days difficult for teams and drivers alike.

Our three drivers, Kevin Joerg, Marcos Siebert and Levin Amweg, had a lot to learn. The team had a fourth rookie driver, Andrew Tang, from Singapore in the mix. It is not necessarily a disadvantage to have to train in the wet, but conditions here were so bad, that the drivers might have been better off with a boating license...

On the first day our drivers were all in the second half of the timing sheets, but on day two they started to show towards the front of the pack. Kevin came out best with 10th place in the morning session, and 16th in the afternoon, suggesting that he has already begun to master the new car quite well.

We are now really hoping for better conditions for the next official test days, which will take place on 16th/17th March at Barcelona (E).
