GP3 TEST ONE – TWO in Barcelona – JENZER BOYS ON TOP

The GP3 Series teams met up for the second time on 12^th/13^th March for testing with the new car, this time at the GP Circuit of Catalunya, near Barcelona (E). The complete field of 27 drivers was present, and Samin Gomez, Patric Niederhauser and Alex Fontana were driving for Jenzer Motorsport. Again the weather was very changeable, and the rain and cold made life difficult for every one.

On the first day the team tried out various set ups until they found what they thought was the right way to go technically, using the settings they tried on Alex Fontana’s car. Alex was 4^th in both the morning and the afternoon sessions, while Patric was 8^th and 14^th and was Samin 25^th and 23^rd.

Our goal on the second day was to set fast times straight out of the box, because rain was already threatening and was the forecast to continue for the remainder of the day. Patric and Alex set some superb lap times and ended up in a sensational 1st and 2^nd place respectively. Samin ended up in 23^rd overall, and would probably have been faster had she not been adversely affected by the recent death of her mentor, president Chavez of Venezuela.

The last official test days before the season are on 3^rd/4^th April at Silverstone (GB). The first race of the new season will be a support act to the Formula 1 Grand Prix on 11^th/12^th May 2013 in Barcelona (E).
