OFFICIAL FR2.0 ALPS CHAMPIONSHIP TEST DAY

Eleven teams took part in the official test day of the ALPS Championship on 21^st March 2013 in Vallelunga (I). There were 29 drivers present, including Denis Korneev (RUS), Max Schaumburg-Lippe (D) and Andrew Tang (SIN) for Jenzer Motorsport, while Patric Niederhauser conducted a separate test plan, driving Kevin Joerg’s car (since Kevin is not allowed to take part in these test because he’s also racing in the Eurocup Championship this year).

For the first time this year the sun actually came out at a test day right from the get go! Even so the temperatures at first were a mere 5°C, once the sun was up the mercury started to rise and it wasn’t long before it hit 15°C! For once it was actually possible to try different set ups in sensible temperatures.

In the morning Patric was 8^th, Andrew was 9^th, Denis 10^th and Max was in 20^th position. After the lunch break the chase for good lap times started anew. At the end of the day Patric was 3^rd, Max 9^th, Denis 11^th and Andrew 14^th.

Most teams stayed on after the test day, and so did we, because there was the possibility of an additional private test day. This was very important, because in a fortnight the racing season starts for the ALPS championship here at Vallelunga. This time Denis finished the day in 3^rd place, Andrew was 6^th, Patric 8^th and Max 10^th. We are now keenly looking forward to the start of the 2013 season.
