In temperatures of over 30°C, Mathéo had been very quick in free practice, which was partly wet, and snatched pole position in an impressive manner in qualifying. He made a great start and controlled the race brilliantly in his single-seater debut, making no mistakes. Robert, whose car experienced gear change problems, still showed great potential, fighting his way up from 5th to 2nd/sup> by the end of the race.

In race two Mathéo again managed to win the race having started from pole, despite being closely followed all the way by Auer and Sofyan. Robert, despite further problems with the gears did very well, but then had a coming together with another car and damaged his front wing, which left him unable to drive an attacking race this time, and so he finished the race in 6th position.

Next race: 22nd/24th July 2011 in Shanghai (China)
