Mathéo Tuscher wins again

GP3-Series

Mathéo Tuscher won another race in the Formula Pilota China Series last weekend, this time at the Grand Prix circuit in Shanghai. With four races run in the 12 race series, he is now leading the championship from experienced driver Luis Sá Silva. Meanwhile, his team mate Robert Visoiu is 5th. The rules are very similar to the Italian Formula Abarth series, with one qualifying session and two races each weekend. The grid for the second race is formed based on the fastest lap set by each driver in race one.

Qualifying session
1st Mathéo Tuscher (CZ) 2:05.546 Jenzer Welch Asia Racing
2nd Luis Sá Silva (ANG) 2:06.169 Asia Racing Team
3rd Lorenzo Camplese (I) 2:06.187 Eurointernational
5th Robert Visoiu (ROM) 2:06.583 Jenzer Welch Asia Racing

Despite the hot weather, Mathéo was very impressive in qualifying on the Grand Prix Circuit in Shanghai and grabbed pole position. He also made a good start to race and Mathéo moved into an unchallenged lead. Unfortunately, several laps into the race, his fire extinguisher went off and Mathéo, thinking that there was a fire, pulled over and parked at the side of the track. Robert improved his position from 5th to 2nd but then a challenge on the leader in the closing stages of the race went wrong, and Robert spun off. He recovered but was 9th at the finish, showing just how fine the line between success and failure sometimes is!
