20th October 2011

FLORIAN LACHAT THIRD OVERALL IN 2011 SWISS HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP

As usual the Swiss Hillclimb Championship ended at Châtel-St-Denis/Les Paccots. Florian Lachat from Porrentruy in a Formula Master S2000 Turbo secured third place overall after a difficult season.

The winner of the 2011 Swiss Hillclimb Championship after eight events was Marcel Steiner.

Florian Lachat‘s newly designed Tatuus-LRM-Turbo proved to be insufficiently developed and was tricky to control, although the season got off to an optimistic start. Despite running into difficulties Florian got on the podium at Reitnau, La Roche/La Berra, Ayent/Anzère, Oberhallau and Châtel St-Denis, and managed to be consistent throughout. The championship visited the following venues during the season:

  • Reitnau
  • La Roche/La Berra
  • Ayent/Anzère
  • Massongex/Vérossaz
  • St. Ursanne/Les Rangiers
  • Oberhallau
  • Gurnigel
  • Chãtel-St-Denis/Les Paccots

We are already planning for next season, working on improvements to the car, while Florian focuses on further improving his fitness. Both of these aspects will be especially important as he intends taking part in a number of international events outside of Switzerland in addition to his existing commitment to the Swiss series.
