GP3 TESTS IN JEREZ – JMS SHOW GOOD PACE

GP3-Series

The GP3 teams met up on 10th and 11th April for further test days at the demanding Circuito do Jerez in southern Spain. 26 drivers were in attendance, with Pal Varhaug (NOR), Christopher Hoeher (A) and Adderly Fong (PRC) driving for Jenzer Motorsport. The weather was windy and cloudy, but the temperature was very warm.

It was the first time that Christopher drove a car with so much horsepower, which was why he was one of the drivers who caused a red flag stoppage. Despite that he improved his lap times during the day. Pal and Adderly took up where they had left off at the last test, and were both able to improve significantly as a reward for their efforts. The results at the end of the morning were 9th place for Pal, 21st for Adderly and 22nd for Christopher. At the end of the afternoon the results were 5th place for Pal, 10th place for Adderly and 17th place for Christopher.

The second day started out quite cloudy, but the sun soon came out. Pal managed 6th place in the morning, Christopher was 18th and Adderly 20th. Pal’s car stopped during the race simulation, after running out of fuel, which meant that all his times were disallowed. Adderly on the other hand was running very well and finished 6th, while Christopher was 24th.

The last official test days are on 16th/17th April 2014 in Barcelona (E). The first race of the new season will be run as part of the Formula 1 Grand Prix programme on 10th/11th May 2014, also in Barcelona.
