TANG WINS IN NEW ZEALAND

FR2.0 NEC

For the last 10 years the Toyota Racing Series has taken place in January and February in New Zealand. 15 races are run during 5 race weekends, this compact program making the series very attractive as additional training for any young driver from the European championships.

Once again this year lots of foreigners took part, including our drivers from Formula Renault 2.0 Andrew Tang, Denis Korneev and Levin Amweg. More than 20 starters were on the grid on average, and Andrew had an excellent season, with a total of 9 podium places, including 3 wins. This netted him the championship title after a tight fight to the finish. We congratulate him!

The final standings: 1st Andrew Tang (SIN), 790 points; 2nd Jann Mardenborough (GB), 782 points; 3rd Damon Leitch (NZ), 708 points; 4th Martin Rump (EST), 627 points; 5th Steijn Schothorst (NL), 626 points; 6th Egor Orudzhev (RUS), 595 points; 7th James Munro (NZ), 582 points; 8th Denis Korneev (RUS), 414 points; 9th Matevos Isaakyan (RUS), 414 points; 10th Levin Amweg (CH), 409 points
