Race One (28 minutes + 1 lap)
Saturday, 27/10/18, 13.10, Weather: Cloudy, 21°C
Federico and Giorgio made good starts and held onto 6th and 7th places respectively. As Fittipaldi and Lorandi clashed, there was change at the front. Federico was all over Estner and battling for 3rd place when his car suddenly ran out of power and he rolled to a halt on the side of the circuit just before the end. After the race, it turned out that his turbo had failed. Giorgio fought with Alatalo and finally claimed an excellent 5th place after a hard race. Oliver improved right from the start and drove a good race, making up places in the second half of the race and crossing the finish line in a good 13th place. Nazim ran wide in one of the early corners and lost momentum, rejoining in 26th place and then managing to work his way back up lap by lap, finally taking the chequered flag in 18th place.

Race Two (28 minutes + 1 lap)
Sunday, 28/10/18, 09.00, Weather: Rain, 18°C
It rained in the morning and so the start took place behind the Safety Car. On the very wet and slippery track a collision occurred on lap three with one car ending up sideways across the track. The race had to be red-flagged and once the mess was cleared up there were 9 damaged cars including Oliver’s and Nazim’s. None of the drivers were injured which was good, and the remaining 21 vehicles lined up again on the grid in their original starting order. The race started again behind the Safety Car with just four racing laps left before the end. Giorgio managed to hold onto 5th place all the way to the finish, while Federico managed to pass Saucy again and was in 6th place at the flag.
After the race, the results from before the red-flag were added to the second results and in the aggregated result Federico was a place further back in 7th.

Race Three (28 minutes + 1 lap)
Sunday, 28/10/2018, 15.30, Weather: Rain, 15°C
The last race of the season was held on a very wet track so once again it had to be started behind the Safety Car, and when it came in after one lap there were a number of aquaplaning incidents, meaning the Safety Car had to be deployed once again. The pattern repeated itself with a restart and several more incidents on the next lap. Because the rain was now coming down even harder, the race was finished under Safety Car, the excessive spray making it impossible to go racing once again. The championship had been decided by the rain, and Fittipaldi was thus able to secure the necessary points to beat Lorandi.
Our drivers fared well in these difficult conditions. Federico made it to the end in 6th place, Giorgio was 7th, Nazim was 18th and Oliver was classified in 23rd place after a spin. All four cars made it to the end of the race this time.
This brought the 2018 racing season for Formula 4 Italy to an end. We are already looking forward to next year and hope that you will follow our story again.
