OFFICIAL GP3 TEST DAYS IN BARCELONA
OSCAR TUNJO WITH NEW LAP RECORD

The seven GP3 Series teams met up on 20^th and 21^st April 2016 for the official test days at the Catalunya Circuit near Barcelona (E). 24 drivers were again in attendance. For Jenzer Motorsport Akash Nandy (MAS), Oscar Tunjo (COL) and Richard Gonda (SVK) all drove.

The weather was cloudy and cool on the first day, but then the sun came out in the afternoon. Oscar was very motivated and managed a laptime in the morning which was two tenths faster that the fastest lap time so far by a GP3 Series racing car on this circuit. His time remained unbeatable throughout the day. His positions were great with 1^st in the morning and 7^th in the afternoon.
Akash and Richard had never raced on this circuit before and therefore needed some time to adapt to the demanding track. Akash reached 23^rd in the morning and 17^th in the afternoon while Richard was 20^th in the morning and 18^th in the afternoon.

On the second day the track was very wet in the morning and the rain just kept falling. Our drivers went out nevertheless. Akash set the 9^th best time, Richard was 10^th and Oscar had a spin which meant he ended up 12^th overall. In the afternoon the track started to dry slowly and our drivers reached the following positions: 10^th for Oscar, 21^st for Richard and 23^rd for Akash.

That brought the pre-season test days of the GP3 Series to an end. The first race of the new season will be part of the Formula 1 Grand Prix programme on 13^th/15^th May 2016, also in Barcelona (E).
