CHARLIE WURZ FAST IN BAHRAIN FIA F3 TESTS

The 10 teams of the FIA F3 Championship met on February 11^th - 13^th, 2024 for the first three official test days of the 2024 season on the challenging track in Sakhir in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Our drivers Charlie Wurz, Max Esterson and Matias Zagazeta were ready to finally put the gas pedal down again in the racing car.

On the first morning, the FIA F3 field was surprised by unusually grey, windy weather with heavy downpours. In the morning session, only the functions of the vehicle were checked; not many laps were driven overall. In the afternoon the weather improved, it began to dry out, and all vehicles now ran their first test program. After that we really stepped on the gas. At the end of the day our drivers were in the following positions: Max Esterson P11, Matias Zagazeta P12, Charlie Wurz P14.

On the second morning, on a dry track, different settings were tried. Charlie achieved the fastest lap time and took excellent 1st place, Matias was 9^th and Max was 14^th. Long runs were traditionally held in the afternoon Our drivers also managed well in this exercise, Charlie was 5^th, Max 11^th and Matias 13^th.This was a very balanced and great result.

On the third day, Max was in great shape and took 3^rd place in the morning. Charlie was 17^th and Matias 21^st. In the afternoon, racing simulations were run again. Matias reached 12^th place, Max 18^th and Charlie 20^th.
Over the three days the rankings were sometimes a bit confusing, because exceptionally on this test there were two different tyre compounds to choose from. Not all drivers always used the same compounds at the same time.

The racing season of the FIA F3 Championship begins on the weekend of March 2, 2024, also here in Bahrain as part of the Formula 1 Grand Prix programme.
