Race One (30 minutes + 1 lap)

Saturday, 18/05/19, 16.40, Weather: Rain, 16°C

In the afternoon it rained heavily, but then the wind and sun dried out the track. The F4 teams prepared to start on slicks, but then it started raining again and everyone had to switch back to rain tyres on the grid. The race started behind the Safety Car, but it soon stopped raining, and the track started drying out in places during the race. This led to very changeable and difficult conditions, which the drivers had to adjust to, but most of them drove cautiously, and fortunately there were no big accidents. Our drivers got all our cars over the finish line with no damage, with Giorgio finishing 15th, Jonny 19th, Axel 24th and Emidio 27th.

Race Two (30 minutes + 1 lap)

Sunday, 19/05/19, 09.00, Weather: Rain, 14°C

The rain had stopped by Sunday morning, but 90% of the drivers chose rain tyres. Giorgio took a risk and opted for slicks, hoping that he would reap the benefit in the second half of the race. In the end it didn’t dry out enough, and towards the end it started to rain again, though only lightly. Giorgio managed to stay on track and crossed the finish line in 19th place. Axel, like Giorgio, did not do well on slicks, but later managed to work his way up to 22nd. Jonny drove a very good race on wet tyres, and after a great first lap he was able to make up more places during the race to move up to 10th. This put him in third place on the rookie podium. Emidio had already progressed to 16th on wet tyres when, towards the end of the race, he collided with Famularo, which ended in a spin for Emidio. He lost several places, but was able to continue and finished in 25th.

Race Three (28 minutes + 1 lap)

Sunday, 19/05/2019, 14.40, Weather: Rain, 16°C

When the F4 field was on the pre-grid, heavy black rain clouds approached. The start process began and the field was sent out on the green flag lap, but then the red flag was hung out because it had started to rain properly. The cars came back in to the pits, everyone changed to wet weather tyres and then they headed back out to the grid. The field then completed a lap behind the Safety Car, just as a violent thunderstorm broke out directly over the circuit. The track was completely flooded, the race was stopped, and the cars were directed into Parc Fermé. The race would not be restarted.

The third race meeting of the Italian Formula championship is scheduled for the weekend of 7th July 2019 at the Hungaroring (HU).
