Borenstein in top ten in FWS in Valencia (E)
The third race weekend of a total of five in the FWS F4 Winter Series took place on the demanding, technical track in Valencia. A total of 31 drivers had registered.
The weather was mostly sunny, but there were very strong winds, and it was quite cool in the mornings and evenings.
Qualifying
Sunday, 15/02/26, Quali 1 08.30 – 08.45, Weather: Sunny, 11°C
In this championship there are several free practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, then two qualifying sessions of 15 minutes each, and a total of three races of 30 minutes + 1 lap each.
The starting grid for the first race will be created in the order of the fastest qualifying time from Q1. The starting grid for the second race will be based on the 2nd fastest time per driver from Q1. The starting grid for the third race will be drawn up in the order of each driver's best qualifying time from Q2.
Because exceptionally strong winds were expected on Saturday, the Valencian government issued an order prohibiting all events that day. As a result, all activities at the racetrack were cancelled. A new program, for Sunday only, was announced. This included only one qualifying session (fastest time for the starting grid of Race 1, second-fastest time for Race 2, and, according to the regulations, the fastest lap time from Race 2 for the starting grid of Race 3), and all three races were shortened to 20 minutes plus one lap.

Race One (20 Min + 1 lap)
Sunday, 15/02/26, 10.35, Weather: Cloudy, 14°C
At the start of the first race, there was a dangerous situation when Burnett didn't pull away. Luckily, the large field got past without damage. However, further back, there was an accident involving three cars. The safety car had to be deployed. Teo immediately improved to 13th place. After the restart, he managed to move up to 12th. Teo safely held this position to the finish. Levi avoided an accident at the start and lost momentum. During the race, he made up several places and ultimately crossed the finish line in 20th. Markas was driving in 22nd place when he was hit from behind and ended up off the track. Although he was able to continue, he had dropped back to 28th place. Unfortunately, it didn't help Markas that the other driver received a 5-second penalty for his actions. Georgiy didn't get a good start and fell back. During the race, he gained a few positions and finished in 25th place.
This was the first race of the season on a completely dry track. However, a new challenge arose, as strong winds affected the cars' handling in some corners.

Race Two (20 Min + 1 lap)
Sunday, 15/02/25, 12.55, Weather: Cloudy, 15°C
There wasn't much time for the mechanics between races, and soon it was already time for the start of the second race. This time, all the cars got off to a good start, but a few corners on there was an accident, and the safety car was deployed. After the restart, Teo was already up in 9th place. He drove very well and later worked his way up to 8th. Levi also had a better run this time, finishing the race in 15th place, in the top half of the field. Markas and Georgiy started quite far back but managed to steadily work their way forward.
After the race, several drivers received penalties for exceeding track limits. This allowed Teo to move up to an excellent 7th place and to grab important points, Levi moved up to 13th, Markas finally finished in 23rd position, and Georgiy in 26th.
