FIRST TESTS WITH BRAND NEW GP3 CAR

The GP3 Series teams met up on 2^nd/3^rd March 2016 for a shakedown of the new car at Magny-Cours (F). The GP3/2016 car, now featuring a new 400bhp Mecachrome engine and new aerodynamics, was driven for the first time. Each team was running only one car. Drivers for Jenzer Motorsport were Akash Nandy (MAY) on the first day, and Ralph Boschung (SUI) on the second day.

The first day’s running was done in very wet conditions, which only started to improve from the middle of the afternoon. Our car ran smoothly, and Akash managed the most laps of any of the drivers, which pleased him very much.

Different set ups were tested on the second day. The weather remained changeable, with most running done on wet weather tyres. Ralph carried out the test program for us that day.

The next official test days will take place on 22^nd/23^rd/24^th March at Estoril (P). After that tests will follow at Valencia (E) and Barcelona (E), before the first race of the new season as part of the Formula 1 Grand Prix programme on 14^th/15^th May 2016 in Barcelona (E).
