FIA F3

Hon Chio “Charles” Leong, 18 years old, from Macau, will take over the steering wheel of our FIA F3 racing machine no 15 for the last event of the season at Sochi. After that he is scheduled to get more practice with the powerful car in two official test days at Valencia in October, with the ultimate goal to participate after that in the Macau Grand Prix in November with our team.

Charles Leong karted in Macau and China before stepping up to single-seaters in 2016, taking a win in Chinese F4 and finishing 7th in Formula Masters China. For 2017 he graduated to Formula Renault, and dominated both that and Chinese F4. After that Charles entered the inaugural season of Asian F3 and finished 4th overall. He participated in one round of Formula 3 European Championship in 2018, in order to take part in the Macau Grand Prix after that.

Charles Leong stated: „It was my birthday last week when we signed the contract. I look very much forward to driving the new car and to compete in my home Grand Prix again.“

Andreas Jenzer said: „With his experience he is well qualified to step up to FIA F3 and to compete again in the Macau Grand Prix this year. We are excited to do this program with Charles.“
