Race One (28 minutes + 1 lap)

Saturday, 15/07/17, 15.05, Weather: Sunny, 28°C

The race was run in the mid-afternoon heat, and Job ended up sandwiched between Rodriguez and Fernandez, which put him out of the race when the two came together, landing Job in the gravel traps. The Safety Car took over the race while the cars were cleared away. Kush, meanwhile, held onto his 6th place and at the restart he was able to snatch 5th. He then set some very good lap time and was able to stay with the leading group. He came home in an excellent 5th place, his best result of the season so far. Federico also had a super race, ending the day in 10th place to claim the last available point. Giacomo was just outside the top 10 in 13th, and Giorgio improved during the course of the race to finish 15th.

Race Two (28 minutes + 1 lap)

Sunday, 16/07/17, 09.00, Weather: Sunny, 20°C

Job and Kush both started well, but there was trouble almost immediately, and someone hit Job, costing him momentum. Kush had to take to the grass to avoid a collision but still lost his front wing, so he had to come into the pits for a replacement wing. He rejoined a long way back. Federico, meanwhile, was up in 11th and heading for the top ten once again, while Giorgio was 13th and Giacomo 17th. When the Safety Car had to be deployed so that a car could be retrieved from the gravel, Job was running 7th and Federico was battling Correa for 9th place, when Festante, who was behind, left his braking far too late and knocked Federico off, spinning him into the gravel trap. The Safety Car was deployed again. Next Job stopped out on the track and couldn’t restart the engine, with what appeared to be a problem with the connection to the fuel pump. That meant the last few laps also had to be run behind the Safety Car. Giorgio finished the race in 12th, as best Jenzer driver, which saw him step onto the Rookie podium in 3rd place. Giacomo improved several positions to finish a good race not far behind Giorgio in 14th place. Kush was classified in 18th place, Job in 19th and Federico in 20th.

Race Three (28 minutes + 1 lap)

Sunday, 16/07/2017, 16.20, Weather: Sunny, 28°C

The race started, but Kush didn’t move. Unfortunately one of the drivers at the back of the field couldn’t avoid him and he struck Kush’s car from behind. Luckily only the cars were damaged, but the drivers were fine. The race was immediately stopped and the remaining cars returned to the pitlane. After that the start procedure began again. Job managed a very good second start and was up in 3rd place after the first corner. Soon he was all over Lorandi and pulled off a great overtaking move to snatch 2nd place. Job then set off in pursuit of Vips. He closed the gap and was soon in a position to launch an attack. Shortly after the midway point of the race Job was through and into the lead and he soon opened up a gap over the chasing pack. By the time he reached the chequered flag he was more than seven seconds ahead! At the end of the weekend he put in a great drive, setting the fastest lap of the race on his way to a dominant victory. Giorgio, on the other hand, made contact with another car after the second start and pitted with a flat tyre and damaged suspension which unfortunately put an end to his races. Federico started well and improved a place. In the race he was able to lap faster than Festante, but somehow couldn’t find a way past him. Giacomo, who also made a good start, was soon behind Federico and piling the pressure on. Towards the end of the race Giacomo managed to overtake Federico; that put Giacomo behind Festante and he was utterly determined to take 10th place off him on the final lap of the race. The manoeuvre seemed to have been successful, but Festante wanted his place back, they touched and both shot off into the gravel. Giacomo rolled several times, but fortunately was unhurt. Because the accident took place on the last lap of the race, the race finished “normally” and Federico crossed the finishing line in 10th place.
